Rotary Foundation

During the past 100 years, the Rotary Foundation has spent more than £3 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects around the world. With 91% of funds spent on the programmes and projects it delivers, the Foundation is widely recognised for its financial efficiency, accountability and transparency.

The essence of how it works is that Rotary Foundation turns donations into projects that are aimed at changing lives for the better, both close to home and around the world.

The Foundation helps to create goodwill and peace by improving health, the quality of education and the environment, and therefore alleviating poverty. Practical help includes:

  • protecting children from polio
  • providing clean water to help fight waterborne illness
  • anti-bullying campaigns that provide a safe environment for children.

Rotary Foundation Grants

Each year, the Foundation gives around £54 million worth of grants to Rotary clubs throughout the world for humanitarian projects, vocational training and scholarships in Rotary’s causes. Ranging from small-scale, short-term activities to large, international projects, the grants support over 1,000 projects every year.
